Investing in Kids in Oregon - SW Washington
For more than 60 years, Young Life has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to kids. Young Life leaders in this region are investing time with teenagers to build lasting friendships and to help them consider the direction of their lives.
Young Life in Oregon-SW Washington is comprised of 36 YL Areas. Our 79 staff (full-time and part-time) work with over 780 volunteer leaders to reach 151 schools. Over 4,600 high school and middle school kids attend a Young Life club in Oregon-SW Washington on a weekly basis and nearly 2000 kids attend Campaigners (bible study) weekly. In 2008 a total of 13,000 kids attended a YL club in our region. And we sent 3,114 kids to camp in the summer of 2007.

"Introducing kids to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith."
The Vision of Young Life in Oregon-SW Washington is:
"Every Kid deserves to have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ before they leave high school."
Young Life in Oregon-SWWashington is committed to 4 Goals extending to the year 2014:
- Young Life clubs in 50% of the intermediate and high schools in Oregon-SW Washington
- Establish a "Dynamic Presence" in all existing Young Life Clubs
- Every Young Life Area is operating with a strong committee and a financial surplus
- All of our laborers are committed to spiritual leadership
We also operate with 8 Core Values in mind:
- Jesus Christ is central in our lives and message
- Prayer is our primary strategy for reaching "every kid"
- Kids meet Christ all year long
- Excellence in all we do (Colossians 3:23)
- Other Young Life areas are as important as my own
- We live out diversity
- We are relational at every level of ministry
